Today's the day I take off my writing hat and concentrate on promoting my daughter's new psychological thriller 'Arrietty' which comes out today. Loads of research has revealed the best approach is to discount the book for the first week and stack a series of book promotions. To that end I've lined up 19 of them and it's priced at $0.99/£0.99.
The big one (and by far the most expensive) is Bookbub where Arrietty is going to be featured in their 'New Releases for Less' newsletter today which goes to 1,330,000+ readers of psychological thrillers. That's a lot of people and we're hoping for several hundred purchases on the back of it.
The other 18 are staggered 3 a day over the next six days, after which we'll set the ebook to its normal price of $2.99/£2.99. In a week or two I'll write another blog on progress so far.
We've been working hard over the last couple of months getting copies out to ARC (Advance Reader Copy) readers and building up Goodreads reviews and with over 50 at launch we've been pretty successful. The two below are among my favourites:
Abby's also received half a dozen quotes from fellow authors which is great.
So now, we sit tight and cross our fingers. And this evening Penny and I are taking Abby (and Tommy and Heidi of course) out for a meal to celebrate publication day.
